A recent blog from Scantron lists three characteristics of a great teacher. The characteristics are compassion, coach mentality and adaptability. While the blog is directed at traditional teachers, parents and educators can also benefit from the information. It is certainly worth your time to read the blog.

When is funding due?
- Your RC will set their own funding deadline for families however most RCs have the 3rd Friday as their deadline. Funding needs to be turned into the Resource Administrator by the 8th of the month.

Can I buy ink cartridges with my learner's funds?
- Yes, there is a limit however to one black and one color cartridge per semester.

When is the due date for turning in a paid receipt for an Educator invoice?
- The receipt is due by the 8th of the month. No further funding will be processed until the original invoice has been paid.

What information has to be on an Educator invoice for it to be valid?

Name of educator, name of learner, item/class description, date, class fee and educator signature.

What information has to be on a paid receipt for an educator?
- Name of business or educator, name of learner, item/class description, date, method of payment and educator signature.

Why is it necessary that I have the educator signature on the invoice and receipt?
- This is for verification purposes and protection for the educator and the family as well, to confirm the educator’s signature is the same on both the invoice and receipt.

Can an educator invoice or receipt printed from an email be acceptable?
- Yes, we can accept electronic documents if the invoice or receipt is in the body of the email to show that it was sent from the educator’s email.

Can we fund internet services?
- Yes, a onetime installation fee is fundable and the monthly bills can be submitted as a reimbursement only.

Can we get our piano tuned or musical instruments repaired or maintained through learner funds?
- Only if the instrument was purchased with learner funds and is therefore owned by Vision.

How can I know what items are fundable and non-fundable through Vision?
- We want to provide learning options for all individual needs. Check with your RC.
- Go to our website to view page 54 in the Funding Guidelines.

When can I expect my reimbursement check?
- Usually checks are sent out from the District Office during the last week of the month.
- If you have not received your reimbursement check by the first of the following month, check with your RC to find out what might have happened to it.

Can funds be shared within family learners if one learner is out of funds and another one has funds left?
- No, learner funds are designated for the individual learner only.
- Sharing of funds isn’t allowed.

Do you fund extended warranties on computers or pay for a telephone call for technical advice?
- No, we have a technician on staff to provide help with computer issues.

I want to purchase a computer with my learner’s funds. What is the process for this?
- First you should ask your RC to check with our computer technician on staff to see if there are any computers that could be checked out for your use.
- If not, your RC will put a purchase order request in to have the funding staff purchase one for you.
- If your learner has special needs for a computer make that known to the RC so they can include those items in your request.

What can part time learners fund?
- Part time learners can fund outside classes with an outside educator and items required for that class.

What items can I submit as a purchase order in order for the program to purchase for me?
- Purchase orders can be submitted for items that can be purchased online or classes that are paid to a business with an EIN number.
- Back-up for purchase orders need to be specific with item numbers etc. so the correct items are in fact purchased.

What is the $50 computer maintenance fee used for?
- This fee is put in an account to use when normal wear and tear occurs with our Vision computers and parts need to be repaired or replaced.
- If damage occurs to a Vision computer that is deemed learner misuse, the learner’s family will be asked to pay for the repair.

Are Menu Items pro-rated if a learner signs up for one of them later in the year?
- The Menu Items that are classes are paid for by the semester to accommodate those learners who only participate for a semester.
- The other menu items are priced at a discounted cost to the learner and therefore will be the same no matter when a learner signs up to participate.
